La Streisand to Appear at Tony Awards after 46 years
It has been 46 years since La Streisand appeared at the Tony Awards. After more than four decades, Barbra Streisand is finally gracing the Tony Awards stage once again.
Although Barbra is not going to attend the Tony Awards to receive any form of recognition, many are still thrilled to see her at the event. She will be one of the presenters but the award-giving body's organizers do not want to reveal yet what Streisand will actually be presenting that evening.
With the revelation that Barbra will be a part of the 2016 Tony Awards, the organizers are hopeful that more people will tune in when the television broadcast takes place on the 12th of June. Although there are other reasons why everyone is excited about this event, such as a performance of the cast of "Hamilton" and James Corden being the host, the fact that Barbra will be seen at the Tony Awards' stage is still having the biggest impact.
Nobody can question why having Barbra Streisand at this prestigious event is such a big deal. Barbra has received two Oscars, eight Grammys, five Emmys, and has grabbed a special Tony award for "Star of the Decade" way back 1970. She has also been nominated for Tony Awards for her performances in "I Can Get It for You Wholesale" and "Funny Girl".
Barbra is said to be making an appearance in preparation of her upcoming movie, the remake of "Gypsy".
